I have recently married and have taken my husbands name. This means for ID purposes I have changed my last name on my driving licence. However out of spite I chose not to change it on my car insurance as it meant paying an admin fee and rather change it when it comes up for renewal in 6 months. Does the different names invalidate my insurance?

Think about it: No deductibles, no insurance premiums, or people with-out health-care coverage, or those people tying up the emergency room and driving up costs because they cant afford to get there problem taken care of at a clinic. The system would be financed much the same way Medicare and Medicaid are. In fact these two systems are known to be much less expensive and wasteful then normal Insurance or even HMO’s because the extra overhead for marketing and 6 figure CEO salaries is not there. Anybody have an opinion on this???"

This sounds a silly question when I lay it out, but I think my insurance company are trying to pull a fast one on me, so it doesn t hurt to double check. I have a 2011 moped which I ve today declared off-the-road (SORN), but which is still insured until May. It s basically not worth the cost of repairing, so I have also just purchased a new, 2015 moped, which I will pick up from a dealer and use from this weekend. I ll keep the old moped for spares. On phoning my insurance company, they want to charge 66 to transfer my existing insurance policy to the new bike, most of which (~40) is an admin fee. The existing policy is due to expire in May. I have also, separately, obtained a quote online from the same company for a brand new policy for the new bike, at 107 for the next twelve months. Obviously, from a financial perspective, it would make sense to get the brand new policy, as I d still have to do that in May anyway if I transferred the current one over. So, really, I guess I m asking whether it s legal to just let the first policy run out on a SORN bike, whilst getting a brand new policy for the new bike? I haven t asked my insurance company, but I imagine cancelling the existing one would incur the same admin fee. I suspect the answer is no, but is it possible/likely that I d be due money back if I did cancel it before it ran out?"

I was driving home and the road was DARK, there were 2 cars coming head (so I had my bights turned off ) and on as I came around a corner, and there was a black bucket in the middle of the road. The case is complicated and it is about my car insurance. I misinformed my insurance company about my NCD. As a result they cancelled my policy. The problem is that before they cancelled it I had a claim. My car was not damage at all but the other guy had a few scratches on the bumper and he reported the incident. My insurance company informed me; they would cancel the policy and return all the payments I made so far. They would cover the cost of the damage to another guy, but I have to repay all the cost they bear.
